Edgar Allan Poe Receipt Holder

The 7 Gypsies Receipt Holder is such a cool piece.  While antiquing last year, I came across an old vintage receipt holder...a real one!  It actually had a bunch of receipts still in it.  It was the first time I ever saw a real one and I just had to get it. My idea was to scrapbook each tray for a different holiday as home decor. We detached each tray...they needed a lot of cleaning.  I finished creating the first one which is for Halloween.

  1. Well I've never seen such a thing....so cool, what fun you must have had and what a great decor piece for your home. Years from now you can even redo them when you are ready to change the atmosphere.
Following you here now Pam. Great blog.

  2. Hello! This is Valerie aka Angeliclizard from swap-bot. This is really neat I have never seen a reciept holder before, I think it's really cool what you are doing with it, it is looking awesome!

I have always been a Halloween fan, and Edgar Allen Poe is awesome, we always here about him here in Baltimore, I guess that is because he lived here for a while. I have a book of his works and at one point memorized some of them.

I have always wanted to go antiquing but I'm really not sure where to go or what to do. Any tips for a newbie? :)

  3. You gotta get out there antiquing Valerie!! Google antique shops in your local area or in Baltimore and if you ever get to Pennsylvania visit the antique capital of the USA in a little town called Adamstown...it's a super cool mile stretch in town that is one antique shop after another!!

  5. Wow! That is beautiful. I love that it is decorative without being overtly macabre...it's already just a hair macabre with the receipt contraption! Beautiful display.
