Vintage Mini Album

This vintage mini album was so much fun to create...I enjoyed many, many hours creating it and I think it turned out so fabulous. The front cover features an old vintage doily found during one of my antiquing adventures as well as a Tim Holtz grunge flower I made using distress inks and the tattered flowers die. The inside album pages were made using paper bags. I even included a mini album within the mini slips right into one of the bottom page pockets and opens by using an old vintage red button as a "doorknob"...simply delightful.

Happy Halloween

I found several old apothecary bottles with their original stoppers at an auction down the street. My intention was to create a few potions/elixirs etc for Halloween and a Love Potion #9 bottle for Valentine's far I only created one Bat's Brew Bottle with a Poe raven on back for Halloween...I filled the bottle with strong tea for a nice effect...the bottle sets on our kitchen window sill. So many ideas for projects...wish I could just create 24/7!  :-)

A Vignette of Inspiration

A little vignette of inspiration I created that sets on my work table. The assorted laces and bling are from various antique shop visits... the Parisian tags are from French General... and the rusty handled tray as well as the doorknobs are from Hobby Lobby. In the background you can see a little bit of my antique general store ribbon rack...a most "fabulicious" find from Adamstown, the antiques capital of the USA, which is only an hour away from lucky are we?

Shabby Chic Altered Cans for Desk Utensils

No reason my desk at work can't be attractive...I altered these cans in a shabby chic style including beaded hatpins, tulle,  paper flowers and organza flowers, vintage lace, jute, a resin cabochon cameo, and vintage my pens and pencils live in style.

Vintage Lace

Oh how I love vintage lace!! Can a girl ever have enough vintage lace? No. No. No! Here's a card I created using a touch of vintage lace. Is it possible to be addicted to vintage lace? Yes. Yes. Yes! I'd show a photo of my vintage lace collection but then you'd know to what extreme my addictions go!  ;-)

Edgar Allan Poe Receipt Holder

The 7 Gypsies Receipt Holder is such a cool piece.  While antiquing last year, I came across an old vintage receipt holder...a real one!  It actually had a bunch of receipts still in it.  It was the first time I ever saw a real one and I just had to get it. My idea was to scrapbook each tray for a different holiday as home decor. We detached each tray...they needed a lot of cleaning.  I finished creating the first one which is for Halloween.

Bliss...time to create in my scrap room...sometimes the creative process just flows and I  produce something I really this card...I created it in only 20 minutes...that's soooo not my norm...usually I struggle to create a card from start to finish within an evening...I love to create things that make me say wow...don't you just love experiencing the feeling of creating and knowing/feeling the creativity is coming from somewhere and it's flowing through you...inspiring you...that's bliss...

Wearable Art

This necklace was so easy to create using SU! Simply Adorned Charm and chain. The charm measures 1 1/2 x 2 inches. I simply created several inserts (handstamped paper images/designs measuring the same size as the locket charm)...I simply switch out my stamped inserts according to holiday, mood, or attire. Such a quick, easy way to design some creative wearable art. How cool is that!

Bling! Bling! and more Bling!

I so enjoy Somerset Life magazine inspiration!! Because of that magazine, I now have a new addiction!! Bling!! I wanted to create some inspirational pieces showcasing bling such as found in Somerset Life. As we have been antiquing the past few months, I've been on the lookout for inexpensive, beautiful bling. While antiquing in Maine on vacation this summer, I hit the Bling Motherload! I think I bought a piece of bling in just about every antique shop we found. What a fun time I had collecting all this glitz!!  I have several ideas for creative pieces and will post them as I complete them. In the meantime, I am still hunting for bling, bling, and more bling!

Somerset Life magazine inspiration

A few months ago I discovered Somerset Life magazine. I have been enjoying their sister magazine Where Women Create since its inception. I now have a complete collection of both magazines thanks to Ebay and Etsy. I have been creating various small inspiration pieces based on SL magazine's of which is this antique book I found while on vacation in Maine this past summer...I simply wrapped some wide vintage lace around the book and added a little chocolate tulle along with a vintage-like Prima flower...I just love the look of the's a beautiful shade of blue with a vintage lady image. The remote controls are now kept hidden away in the end table drawer while this inspiration graces the table top.

Printer's Tray

I designed the following printer's tray to hang on the bulletin board next to my computer at showcases several vacation photos of my husband and I...seeing it makes me smile.

Anniversary Card for Husband

My husband Shane and I love to take car road trips (we love Route 66!!)...he has a '71 Harley Davidson Sportster (just for short local rides) I combined the two ideas to create this anniversary card for him.
Our anniversary is 7/7/07...not intentionally! For months we were planning a chili cook-off in our yard for over July 4th weekend and seven weeks before the event Shane and I decided to surprise our guests by getting married at the cook-off...we organized our wedding in seven weeks...we were married by our in ground pool's waterfall with all our guests around us...Shane wore jeans and I wore a jean skirt...we announced the winner of the chili cook-off (we had 18 awesome chili entries!!) and then Shane announced that we were getting married so to gather around the pool...their looks of surprise and happiness was priceless...the only thing traditional about our wedding was our first dance together which was in our driveway...we had made arrangements for the ice cream truck to pull into our drive as we finished our dance and all enjoyed a treat...a fabulous day done our way  :-)

First Copic Attempt

I love the look of copics and I love the Rubber Romance I took the plunge and purchased quite a few of both...after watching tons of helpful tutorial videos I gave it a shot...I think it's decent for my first attempt...I need to learn more about shading...wish there were copic classes in my area...Thank God there's You Tube!  :-)

Altered Composition Book Journals

The sunflower journal I created over a year ago and used it as my journal last has a cool little spinner to select which emotion you are currently feeling...I adhered a little paper tube inside to hold a sunflower pen...I was addicted to making flower pens for about six months...the poinsettia ones were fun to use during the holidays.  The purple/leather-like journal is for this year's journaling. Happy 2011!
